President & Website/Social Media Chair

Lisa Hebert Ryan is an owner and the Executive Vice President of MicroKnowledge.  Ms. Ryan consults with businesses in the use of technology in the workplace, effective staff training and how job responsibilities change due to implementing technology.  In addition, she has worked as a Subject Matter Expert for professional courseware development companies.  Ms. Ryan has served on a number of industry and community boards and committees.

Schyler Houck, SPHR SHRM-SCP has a BS in Marketing and Management from Siena College, an MBA from Union Graduate College and is certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) through the HRCI.  Schyler is the Director of Human Resources at the Hilton Albany. His responsibilities include the oversight of all of the hotel’s employee and labor relations activities as well as providing operational support and guidance to the various departments.

Rue Heron is a trainer and instructional systems designer with experience in the full range of ISD from needs analysis to evaluation.  As Immediate Past President of the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Association for Talent Development, Rue is working to create professional development and networking opportunities for workplace performance professionals, trainers, and leaders in the Capital Region.  Rue has been a member of the HMATD Board of Directors since 2011 and has served as Chair of the Membership and Awards committees.

Samantha Good
VP Marketing

Samantha Good is an experienced software trainer with expertise in designing, developing, and delivering customized software training.  Prior to working in learning and development, Samantha was an analyst and fundraiser for academic institutions and healthcare organizations. She earned a graduate certificate in Human-Computer Interaction from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008, and an MS in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2010.  She also holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from SUNY Empire College, and an MA in English Literature from the College of Saint Rose. She is the co-author of two chapters in the textbook, ‘Designing for User Engagement on the Web: 10 Basic Principles’ which was published by Routledge in 2014.

Will Fahey, CPLP, PHR, SHRM-CP is the Manager of Professional and Organizational Development at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. In this role he is responsible for the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive professional development and training program and routinely consults with organizational stakeholders to identify key training and development needs for the Institute. Will has been facilitating adult learning for over twenty years in a variety of subject areas including compliance, leadership development, customer service and performance consulting. He routinely works with external organizations to provide innovative solutions to current business challenges through Rensselaer’s Workforce Development Program. Will has a MS degree in Adult Education and is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) andand Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Danto VP Professional Development

Judy Danto has a passion for lifelong learning, a trait that fuels both her personal and her professional life.  She works – and plays – as a Training and Development Specialist for Office of State Comptroller (OCS), a position she’s held since 2004.  Judy is involved in many OSC committees and has helped “connect the dots” between fun and learning in most of them.  She is a member of the Agency Mentoring Team, the OSC Volunteer Team, the OSC Community Connections Team, and the Class and Curriculum Team. Judy has served on the Board of the Schenectady Dog Training Club as Recording Secretary since 2013.

Karaman At-Large Board Member

Tricia Karaman has a BS in Education and 20 years’ experience in Health Insurance related fields.  This includes managing a billing office for a medical equipment company, investigations and settlements for a workers’ compensation organization and training and quality control for various health insurance companies. In her current role, she oversees the Training Department.  Training is responsible for new employee orientation as well as existing employee  and Client Training for all of  Magellan’s Clients.  This includes computer skills, Customer Service skills, HIPAA, Diversity in the workplace, and many other skills training, as needed.  Training also assists the Quality Control Department with Customer Service call monitoring, Claims and Enrollment processing audits and reporting.

Candice At-Large Board Member

Candice Hunt is the Training Coordinator at LeverPoint Management in Clifton Park, NY.  Candice received her B.A. from Siena College and her M.Ed. from Boston College.  She began her career as a teacher, instructing both high school students and adults, and eventually made the leap into Learning and Development as a corporate trainer.  Candice uses her knowledge of learning theory to develop and deliver training programs that focus on soft skill and leadership development at LeverPoint.  She runs the High Potential Employee Program, as well as the Leadership Development Academy for Managers.  Candice also leads the Training Committee in the development of technical training programs at LeverPoint.

Carolyn Mattiske serves as the Assistant Director of the SUNY Academic & Innovative Leadership (SAIL) Institute. Prior to this she worked at the Research Foundation for SUNY as their Learning and Development Manager. Carolyn has served as a stand-up trainer and curriculum developer for the University at Albany’s Professional Development Program (PDP) specializing in food stamp and welfare fraud detection policy. In her L&D role at the RF, she was responsible for managing the training needs throughout the organization. She collaborated with subject matter experts to assist with the development of training plans and determination of appropriate training delivery methods, tools and technology solutions. She managed Learning Tuesdays, a monthly 90-minute live streaming webinar training series, as well as an enterprise-wide mentoring program and leadership academy.

Carolyn earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and minor in communications from the University at Albany. She recently earned a Master’s of Arts in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design also from the University at Albany. She currently serves as a board member for the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Association for Talent Development. She is a busy working mom of two children, Owen and Evelyn. In her free time (Ha!) she enjoys skiing, practicing hot yoga and reading.

Janet Kimlicko Chapter Administrator & Account Executive

Janet Kimlicko is our Chapter Administrator.  She provides administrative assistance to the Board of Directors and communicates with National ATD.  She is the point of contact for our members, colleagues and other local organizations.  In her role as Account Executive, Janet is responsible for securing event sponsors & exhibitors as well as processing job postings.
