Schyler Houck, SPHR SHRM-SCP has a BS in Marketing and Management from Siena College, an MBA from Union Graduate College and is certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) through the HRCI.  Schyler is the Director of Human Resources at the Hilton Albany. His responsibilities include the oversight of all of the hotel’s employee and labor relations activities as well as providing operational support and guidance to the various departments.

“Candice Hunt is the Senior Talent Development Specialist at CAP COM Federal Credit Union. Candice received her B.A. from Siena College and her M.Ed. from Boston College. She began her career as a teacher, instructing both high school students and adults, and eventually made the leap into Learning and Development. Candice uses her knowledge of learning science to develop and deliver training programs that focus on soft skills and leadership development.”

Lisa Hebert Ryan is an owner and the Executive Vice President of MicroKnowledge.  Ms. Ryan consults with businesses in the use of technology in the workplace, effective staff training and how job responsibilities change due to implementing technology.  In addition, she has worked as a Subject Matter Expert for professional courseware development companies.  Ms. Ryan has served on a number of industry and community boards and committees.

Samantha Good
VP Marketing

Samantha Good is an experienced software trainer with expertise in designing, developing, and delivering customized software training.  Prior to working in learning and development, Samantha was an analyst and fundraiser for academic institutions and healthcare organizations. She earned a graduate certificate in Human-Computer Interaction from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008, and an MS in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2010.  She also holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from SUNY Empire College, and an MA in English Literature from the College of Saint Rose. She is the co-author of two chapters in the textbook, ‘Designing for User Engagement on the Web: 10 Basic Principles’ which was published by Routledge in 2014.

VP Membership

Bob Frederick is a career and professional development coach and consultant for individuals and organizations seeking to recognize and unleash the talents within.  In 2016, he transitioned a part-time endeavor, Employee Development Associates, in to a full-time business after retiring early from Schenectady County Community College and years of innovative leadership serving SUNY colleges and universities in the areas of career and workforce development. He has been a President and Board member of various local, state and national associations and continues to serve as an Emeritus member to support the professional development of their memberships. Beyond his extensive career coaching background, Bob has shared his knowledge and resources over the radio and local cable TV, during presentations within schools, colleges, organizations and businesses, and online through webinars and his website,


VP Professional Development

Deanna Cooper is Director of Adult Education with Questar III.  She has PhD in Post-Secondary and Adult Education from Capella University.  Deanna has over 25 years of experience developing and delivering training and professional development programs.  Her areas of specialization include instructional design and implementation of performance-based training programs, workforce development, and new worker onboarding.

VP – Special Events

Carolyn Mattiske serves as the Assistant Director of the SUNY Academic & Innovative Leadership (SAIL) Institute. Prior to this she worked at the Research Foundation for SUNY as their Learning and Development Manager. Carolyn has served as a stand-up trainer and curriculum developer for the University at Albany’s Professional Development Program (PDP) specializing in food stamp and welfare fraud detection policy. In her L&D role at the RF, she was responsible for managing the training needs throughout the organization. She collaborated with subject matter experts to assist with the development of training plans and determination of appropriate training delivery methods, tools and technology solutions. She managed Learning Tuesdays, a monthly 90-minute live streaming webinar training series, as well as an enterprise-wide mentoring program and leadership academy.

Carolyn earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and minor in communications from the University at Albany. She recently earned a Master’s of Arts in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design also from the University at Albany. She currently serves as a board member for the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Association for Talent Development. She is a busy working mom of two children, Owen and Evelyn. In her free time (Ha!) she enjoys skiing, practicing hot yoga and reading.

  At-Large Board Member

Tracy Morse has a passion for providing employees with engaging, world-class learning. Tracy started her career as a Sales & Training Manager at Guardian Loan Company where she was responsible for training employees on customer service, operations and sales. Now she is a Learning & Development Specialist at Pioneer Bank where she develops class curriculum and facilitates classes for all employees in the branch network. Her emphasis is on creating a meaningful, consistent onboarding experience for new employees as well as an ongoing investment in learning and development from operational skills to soft skills for existing employees. Tracy recently served on the HMATD Summit Committee, volunteers for PKU Helping Hands and is a vocalist at her local church.

Janet Kimlicko Chapter Administrator & Account Executive

Janet Kimlicko is our Chapter Administrator.  She provides administrative assistance to the Board of Directors and communicates with National ATD.  She is the point of contact for our members, colleagues and other local organizations.  In her role as Account Executive, Janet is responsible for securing event sponsors & exhibitors as well as processing job postings.
