J. Fergus Smith specializes in improving human capital talent, performance, and engagement toward achieving an organization’s mission. He has over 20 years’ experience consulting to several industries, including Financial Services, Manufacturing, Hospitality, and Transportation. Fergus’s expertise is in conducting organizational assessments and needs analyses, Human Resources systems and processes re -engineering, leadership and staff development programs, and enterprise wide performance management programs. He has led several large-scale, global, change management and cultural transformation initiatives as well as small business turnaround efforts.
Among others, Fergus has worked with Deloitte Consulting, Booz Allen Hamilton, and the United States House of Representatives, in addition to buying, transforming, and selling his own small business. Fergus sat on Deloitte Consulting’s Risk Culture offering leadership team, and was instrumental in developing a multi-year, multi-disciplinary education and development program for all professionals of the U.S. Deloitte firms. While with Booz Allen Hamilton, he was internationally recognized as an expert in driving human capital strategy. He is a Predictive Index Certified Practitioner and serves as an ambassador for PI services in the greater NYC and Boston/Providence areas.
Fergus has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational and Industrial Relations from New York University and a Masters of Science from The George Washington University in Systems Engineering with a focus in organizational risk management. Fergus is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
